I've been tasked with seeing what's involved in upgrading from 2017 R2 to 2022 Latest version. We have thousands of programs. Is there an easy way to bring them up to date? ie. bat file or some fancy conversion software. Validation requirements? Anything else I may run into?
Utility 2 - the PC-DMIS migration utility is the most useful. You point it at a folder containing your routines and it will sort them, based on the migration report, into those that require attention and those that are OK to release "as is".
The newer versions (starting with 2020 R2) have much more robust validity checks that ensure compliance to the selected GDT standard and prevent mistakes. Prior versions had extremely limited mistake proofing and validity checking so the level to which you will be impacted when migrating is directly proportional to how well you understood and followed the rules associated with the older (XactMeasure) dimensioning method. Please contact me directly if you would like me to explain further and arrange a demo of the migration utility.
