We recently moved one of our CMM's and the probe rack is currently located on the left side of the machine (when changing probes, the head approaches in the X- direction). The problem is, since the machine has moved and the way it is now oriented, most of the loading/unloading of parts is done from that side and operators keep bumping the probe rack, causing me to constantly have to re-calibrate the rack. I want to move the rack to the opposite side (on the right side, with a head approach from X+), but is there any way to change what direction the head approaches it from? Or is this taken into account when re-calibrating the rack?
dcoss Go to edit-preferences-probe changer- mount point..... you'll see A angle and B angle. I have mine mounted on the right side of my machine (chrome 9-12-08) A angle is 0, B angle is -90. HTH
Good deal, thanks for letting us know the problem was solved. Too many questions in this forum get a lot of responses but never solved. At least the OP never posts that they have found the solution.
