Changing from SP25 to TP20

Just as the title says, I am wanting to swap from our current setup to the TP20.

This morning I removed the SP25 scanning setup and placed on the TP20. After I did this, I was unable to get the CMM to move. Spoke to Renishaw and they said I need blanks to go on the end of the multiwire on the probe head? I'm not sure what I am needing to do.

Equipment used currently - PH10QM/SP25M/SP25-2 = PHC10-2 Probe Head Controller. PCDMIS 2020R1

Any input would be appreciated.

Do you have to restart pcdmis to do this? OR change any settings? I did exactly what you described and the CMM shuts down immediately. Machine start via controller, hit play and then shuts back off.

the only thing I have to do is run a program (since I don't have a rack system). Program starts with ANY probe (of the type currently loaded), in your case the scanner probe. Then do a loadprobe command of the TP20 probe (doesn't matter which one, just needs to be a TP20 build). THEN it prompts you to hit the e-stop, you change the probe to the TP20, reset the e-stop, good to go:

            PRESS MACHINE START BUTTON
            TIP/T1A0B0, SHANKIJK=0, 0, 1, ANGLE=0
            COMMENT/OPER,NO,FULL SCREEN=NO,AUTO-CONTINUE=NO,
            make sure probe is enabled

Reverse it to go from TP20 to scanner
