Possible to do true position to ABC of an odd-shaped feature? It's a hexagonal-ISH (totally not symmetrical) shape and has taper in 3 dimensions. Maybe I should just use profile of a surface? So far, I've created hit points and constructed a SCN. It's allowing me to select the SCN when I go to true position. I have to stick with Legacy by the way. Writing this for a supplier that runs an old version.
I would use profile of a surface. Legacy position will only look at the centroid and could potentially accept a part that should actually fail. Also, if the feature has enough depth, try to capture as much of the 3D surface as possible (don't just scan a single, 2D cross-section).
