I manually took measurements of a plane and several diameters, and I'm trying to enter the dimensional data, but it keeps saying "Size calculation failed." If I rename the ID, then it lets me click the Create button, but then in the report there's no actual measured value. Does anybody know what I might be doing wrong? The other guy who works here wasn't able to help. He last used PC-DMIS 6 months ago, and he was using ver. 2018. He couldn't figure out why I'm getting this error message.
Those types of error are usually because there is some kind of problem with the hits of the feature. Either there aren't any / enough hits or they are in the wrong kind of hit pattern.
I took at least 7 hits for each circle. Do you think that may not be enough?
And does the pattern matter for a circle? Do all the hits have to be taken in a clockwise direction, or a ccw direction? If I go back and take a hit in between two other hits that I took, does that mess it up?
