Error message during calibration - "no tips selected"

Forgive me in advance if my terminology is incorrect or my description is confusing. I can program in pc-dmis but i'm far from an expert in cmm hardware!

We had an issue with results we were seeing using a particular probe (3x50) and upon closer inspection the extension was loose in the stylus (?) base. For this probe it had a 3x50 that connects to a small aluminum spline looking standoff, which then threads on to the stylus. We swapped it out for another 3x50 that connects directly to the stylus.

Everything ran fine until after tightening the original probe setup and putting it back in the stylus rack. We reconfigured the probe configuration in the probe utility box correctly but after the change back to the probe with the extra component, every time a program ties to auto-calibrate we get an error message when it gets to the 3x50 tip.
The message states........
"MEASUREMENT ABORTED DUE TO NO TIPS SELECTED FOR PROBE 3X50
YOU MUST EITHER SELECT SOME TIPS OR CHANGE THE CHOICE FOR WHAT ACTION TO TAKE WHEN NO TIPS ARE EXPLICITLY SELECTED"

To fix this I had to recreate the probe file. Not a problem except for the fact we have hundreds of programs that use this probe! Is there any way to update all of them in pc-dmis so that we don't have to go through and rebuild the probe file for all of these programs. I'm not sure why this didn't occur after the initial change to the probe, only when we went back to its original construction did we start getting this message.

Thank you!
