Probe Failure to Trigger

New user here, still running into hurdles. I’m running a program that has successfully run in DCC mode on a previous part, loaded a second part and the probe fails to trigger after the alignment. I first probe 4 points to establish my Z plane, 4 points around the OD of the part to establish my X and Y zeros, do the alignment and then start to probe points for a second plane. The probe is moving vertically towards the surface but it fails to trigger. It keeps moving in the Z negative direction until it alarms out. Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Glenn

  • I did more playing and it looks like it is a magnetism issue. I've never heard of this before and never had it happen on any of the other machines I have operated, although that is not many. What is the solution? The magnetism is so low that It will not attract a small screwdriver.
