Making sure Datum Locators are in right location of Side Plates

Good afternoon,
I wanted to see what the best way to make sure the Locator Pins are in the right spot from the side plates. We don't have a CAD for this fixture so this will be done manually. I know i can Take hits on each plate and create a midplane and figure out straightness of the bar stock but how would you find the centerline of the Datum Locators? Our Tool and Die guy wants to make sure they are in the right spot and if not, I can tell him how much to adjust it. Both Locators are Circular. I hope i explained this well enough. Attached is an image of the fixture.

  • if you dont have a blue print for the fixture and you want to know where things are, youre basically reverse engineering it virtually now so calipers and a tape measure are your tools to get you relatively close to where you want to probe.
not sure if i helped you or not but sometimes going oldschool is the best way to get started to measure it more accurately with a different tool or technique.
