An operator called me out to the shop floor with an issue calibrating the probes under operator mode. The first probe calibrated fine, but the second probe wouldn't pick up at all and gave the error message below. Any idea how I can get this to work and pick up the second probe and calibrate it?
The calibration collision check sometimes puts in some crazy moves. I once had the CMM change the probe and then immediately pile drive the probe into the table because of a move that was added from the calibration collision check. Maybe that is the sort of thing that is going on here. It might be trying to insert a move that would move the probe outside of the measuring volume.
You may try starting the calibration over again and see if the problem repeats. Another option may be to answer NO when asked if you want to check for collisions (if that is an option in operator mode).
