I am trying to measure an internal cone, 225mm diameter at the top surface of the part and 246.86 mm at the bottom surface of the part, meaning it gets larger as it descends through the part. I am using auto cone and picking the feature from the CAD model. I haven't used this function before and I'm struggling. I got everything to work except the Auto Wrist function. It seems that it selects a wrist position for the first hit but then does not rotate the wrist as required to make the rest of the hits around the diameter of the part. Am I missing something or is this a limitation of the software?
OK, that explains why it didn't work. What's my best option? Make a star probe? or manually rotate the wrist 8 times and probe 8 points on two different levels? I only have one trigger so changing probes in mid-routine is not really an option. I guess I will need to enter the routine manually. Thanks for responding, always good quick advice here.

you can make a star probe, but I try to avoid changing out probes if I can. Just add a few new angles to your existing probe.
depending on probe tip size, you SHOULD be able to get pretty good data with 2 angles 180° from each other just make sure you have clearance
