Hi
I have a positional tolerance....Position | ø .014 P .500 | A...... and this would be my datum B
How do I create datum B above, at .500 ?? Programming pcdimis 2014. Thanks all!

  • The projected length is only for evaluation of the hole position not for determining the Datum B location. The hole will need to be measured as a cylinder to correctly project.

On a side note the drawing appears to be metric with reference imperial conversion as denoted by them being in brackets. But something is off the projection length is stated as 1.27 but the conversion is 0.500 should be 0.050 or is the metric limit incorrect.
  • You are correct, it's cut off in the print above but there's a callout for 12.70 [.500 ] above the feature control frame

Then the one inside the feature control frame should be 1.27[.050 ] if they were just cutting it down to 10% of the values above. Nice catch.
