probe tip diameter vs qual sphere diameter?

is there a suggested size for the probe sphere used to qualify probe tips?

is it ok to use the half inch sphere to qualify both 0.5mm and 6mm probe tips?

you can use whatever size you want to use, YOU just have to make sure that you use start/end angles for the calibration that prevent the possibility of the probe shanking on the sphere.

FWIW, I've used a 5X50 stylus as a qual sphere for star probe with .5 rubies with no ill side effects!
