Some software CMM OS I've used in the past; you have the ability to make the CAD transparent while programing to have a better idea of what the probe should be doing. Can CAD's be made transparent while programing in PC DIMS?
Edit -> Graphic Display Window ->
Lighting, Materials... Under lighting tab is the Transparency box, click "Enable Transparency" and adjust to desired setting.
