Every night my machine disconnects from the Control Box

Every night my machine disconnects from the Control Box. Sometimes I need to leave the machine running overnight but when I come in the morning I have a TCP error and the machine needs to be restarted.

I'm working on a job that will have a run long time at night for the next few months and I need it to continue running all night long.

What's the issue here?    2021.2 CAD++ , Windows 10

If the PC-DMIS controller is disconnecting from the PC, there could be various reasons for this issue. Here are some common troubleshooting steps you can take to address the problem:

    1. Cable Connection:

      • Ensure that all cables connecting the PC to the controller are securely connected. Check both ends of the cables, including USB, Ethernet, or any other relevant connections.
    2. USB Ports:

      • If you're using USB connections, try using different USB ports on your PC. Sometimes, a faulty USB port can cause connectivity issues.
    3. Power Supply:

      • Ensure that the controller has a stable power supply. If there are any issues with the power source or the power cable, it can lead to disconnections.
    4. Controller Status Lights:

      • Check the status lights on the controller. Some controllers have indicator lights that can provide information about their status. Refer to the controller's manual for details on interpreting these lights.
    5. Driver Issues:

      • Verify that the necessary drivers for the PC-DMIS controller are installed and up to date. You may need to check the manufacturer's website for the latest drivers.
    6. Software Configuration:

      • Check the PC-DMIS software settings related to the controller. Ensure that the correct controller type is selected in the software configuration.
    7. Controller Firmware:

      • Ensure that the firmware on the controller is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can address connectivity issues.
    8. Firewall/Antivirus Software:

      • Check if firewall or antivirus software on your PC is blocking the connection. Temporarily disabling such software can help identify if it's causing the issue.
    9. Network Configuration:

      • If the controller is connected via a network, check the network configuration. Ensure that the network settings are correct and that there are no issues with the network connection.
    10. Hardware Issues:

      • If none of the above solutions work, there may be a hardware issue with either the PC or the controller. Consider testing the controller on a different PC (if possible) or seeking assistance from the manufacturer's support.

If you've tried these steps and the issue persists, it's advisable to contact the technical support provided by the manufacturer of the PC-DMIS controller or Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence (the company behind PC-DMIS) for further assistance. They can provide specific guidance based on the model of the controller and any known issues.
