not able to calibrate.

I am receiving an error when trying to calibrate old and new probe files. "Attempting to access an unnamed file passed its end". I have only ever seen this in a corrupted file. The error pops up as soon as I hit measure.  We have gone as far as removing the software and installing the latest version of PC-DMIS(2023.2). Any suggestions will help. We are currently at a stanned still.

  • find tool.dat, which is in the programdata directory, such as C:\ProgramData\Hexagon\PC-DMIS.  rename that file to "old_tool.dat" while PC-DMIS is closed.  When you go to calilbrate, you may need to redefine the qualification sphere size, unless PC-DMIS can find that file in an older version of PC-DMIS.  If you have to redefine the sphere, make sure you pay attention to the program units, so you don't define it as a beach ball(25inches vs 25mm).
