Program Not Establish Z Plane All of A Sudden

Hi,

A while back I made a program for a Go/No-Go gage. Ran without a hitch. fast forward two months down the line. I needed to check another (same gage) that was manufactured. However, Pc DMIS takes the first hit without a problem. The second hit, it makes contact and keeps going untill it errs out.

Program used to work fine. Can't wrap my head why it doesn't all of a sudden. Any ideas?

I just reran the original gage and that went through. The difference in height between the two gages base plane is apprx. .0005". I verified this with an indicator. So I'm kind of lost at this point.

If you are using a touch trigger probe (Renishaw TP20 or Tesa MP) the trigger system is disabled by magnetic fields. Check that the part is not magnetic.

I have had this happen when a TP20 module is failing. Makes the machine quite grumpy too.
If its calibrating and taking manual hits just fine then likely not the problem.
