PROFILE IN A LOOP

Profile in a loop. Does the scan compare to the original CAD surface in every instance?

or does it treat every instance as a separate part?

Parents
  • It depends on the scan settings.

If you have anything other than FIND NOMS for your Nominals Method, it compares the new nominals of each scan to the measured result of the last scan (or first scan with MASTER selected), regardless of CAD.

If you have anything other than DEFINED for your Exec Controls, your actual hits are reflective of whatever your scanning sensor produces (instead of the hit/spacing you defined on CAD).

There's other knobs within scanning that can impact your answer i'm sure.

Click F1 within the scan menu and get reading. dig into the blue text links for each setting, so you can gain a better understanding of the intricacies of them.
