I just want to make sure - it doesn't matter what workplane you are in when constructing a midline between two autolines, correct?
I would say yes, especially 2D. But I am not at the CMM to verify. I always construct in the workplane I want to view the feature in.
Right...it's definitely a good practice, but I'm thinking maybe I can save some time when programming because it doesn't seem to matter for autolines (judging by the visual result in the graphics display window). Perhaps autolines automatically detect workplane, or something along those lines (no pun intended)...can someone please confirm?
I tested offline, and the result of a mid line from 2 lines does not change no matter which workplane I am in.
I'd need to check online with measured data to be 100% sure.
I agree, thanks! It would be great if someone knows if it's 100% ok to not change workplane. I figure it's fine because you don't need to change workplane when creating autolines...at least I dont...I only change workplane when dimensioning the position of the constructed midline (Legacy).
