Question about setting up points for profile on cad

We do a lot of touch trigger profiles on castings using single points (not scans). Instead of just clicking all over the casting model, I was wondering if there is a way to setup a grid on the cad and allow my points to snap to the grid. This would keep all the points evenly spaced and look way more professional than what we are seeing currently.

This is how to set up and activate the grid: PC-DMIS Help Center - 2023.1 (hexagonmi.com)

And then, just turn on "snap to grid" in the auto feature dialog...

If you're dealing with a lot of curved surfaces the actual point spacing will vary as the curve falls away from your current screen perspective. They will however remain in a neat line so it will enhance the look of your program. (and its wicked fast because all you need to do is click the mouse and mash the end key over and over)

Also, worth a mention here is that changing the color of the grid can take this method to the next level.
