Lifespan of HP-S-X1C head

Hello all,

I am curious about the lifespan of these heads. We have around  5 Tigos with these heads and 2 of them sometimes not register hits and stop on point. This behavior comes totally in random times and I start to believe that they have reached their lifecycle limit. (one actually has been crushed so maybe it is also the problem :P ).

I cannot find this info in the manual and a fast search here was not fruitful also. Thanks in advance for the replies or references Slight smile

  • A HP-S-X1C is an analog probe sensor.  It is a similar shape to a Red Bull can.  It is not defined as a Head.  A "Head" is the thing above it, which rotates in increments about two axis.

The sensor, the only end of life situation I've heard of, is either when you visibly see a goo leaking out of them (the goo is supposed to be encased within a silicone shock absorber), or someone crashed it hard enough to render erroneous outcomes.

The easiest way to affirm it's dead is to do a lower matrix scan and see the results. If they are super wonky, you've got a bad head.

RBE is about $10k after the refundable deposit of $5560 is credited, so be prepared for your approvers to have a fit over replacement cost.  If you have a MyCare Essential plan, tough cookies on that 20% discount applying. they keep squeezing the coverage terms, and RBE components are no longer eligible for the 20% discount.
