Collision Detection Speed...

I have an older PC (Xeon W-2125, 64GB 2133MHz, P4000 16GB GPU) running PC-DMIS online and a newer laptop (i7-12850HX, 32GB 4800MHz, A2000 8GB GPU) running PC-DMIS offline.

The animation settings are the same, but when running a collision detection on the laptop, it will take less than half the time for the path lines to populate compared to the older PC. Neither computer is close to maxing any of the components when running a collision detection, according to task manager. Is the laptop faster, just because of maybe the CPU core\thread count or ram speed?
