Is it possible to auto update previously programmed files when you receive a new model?

You could try replacing the model and updating nominals to CAD, it works... sometimes...

This looks like the ticket...

...but that  "sometimes" makes me a little nervous. 

On to the next question, now can I update the dimension nominals, seeing as even though I have it set to "yes" I want to update nominals, it did move the hits, but didn't update the nominals?

You may need to update dimension nominals manually, unless someone else knows a trick for that too. I know modifying a nominal of a dimension created by features prompts PC-DMIS to ask you if you want to carry back nominals to feature.

Check the F5 menu, WARNINGS button.  First one in MY list is:

DO YOU WANT TO UPDATE NOMINALS OF RELATED DIMENSIONS

Mine is set to YES and to NOT prompt the programmer, so it automatically updates any and all dimensions for that feature.

I wouldn't be surprised if that has been changed/eliminated/altered at some point, I use V3.7

For me, first, I will save a copy then play:

1. Rotate the CAD to the same as your current program.

2. Copy everything from current program to the new one.

3. F9 to any features changed, pick it up  and save them. Yes to "UPDATE NOMINALS OF RELATED DIMENSIONS" or alignments

4, Check the results.

Mine is also set to "yes" as the default. I'm going to uncheck it and pull in a copy of the program and try it again to see if anything else changes. 

Even after pulling in a fresh copy of the program and unchecking the "Yes" answer, leaving it without a default answer, it still didn't prompt me to update the nominals or update them automatically. 

This kind of makes the "update nominals from CAD" function kind of useless in my mind. 

Did you do a "reset measured to nominal"?
You could also maybe edit an alignment to force the change too.

"Reset Measured to Nominal" just moved the graphical geometry onto the CAD model. But shifting the alignment and then moving it back solved my issue. Thanks for the help!
