How to get cylinder instead of point when I try to rotate CAD model.

I try to rotate the CAD coordinate system.  Need some help:

I picked up the original at where it is, now I would like to have Y axis down the cylinder. How to pick up point 1 and point 2?   Thank you  

I have honestly never had any luck with that. One of the reasons I do it all in CAD software. I have used the rotate to line before and it worked.

If you don't have the CAD software option then a good standby would be to use some features to dial it in with axis angle rotations, I have used this method many times. 
Before any alignments create an auto cylinder, or two circles to get an axis line between them, dimension that angle from is closest respective axis and then rotate your axis by that amount. Delete the features and rinse and repeat until you get where you are going. Its cumbersome but really only takes a few rotations to get things squared up. 

Thank you. That is what I did before.  I was told months ago here, we could use 2 points to make it easy. :)

I'm sure Neil can point us in the right direction. The Demon rarely makes things easy...  

I think (THINK mind you!) that the 2 points are actual points, not sure if it is points in the cad data OR points you generate using auto features.  If you only have surfaces, then you have no points (in the cad).  Try it by making a circle at each end of the cylinder, with a cast point in the center of each circle.

Yes, for this case, I created a circle at the other end, since X was very close to 0, I could rotate about X, with angle cos-1(0.9426..). But if none of them close to 0 or 1, then I have to keep on rotatations until one of them close to 90 or 0 degree.

Put another circle on the end, create a line, while set in the X workplane dimension the line to/from the Y axis, should give you 30ish degrees based on your image. Rotate that amount around the X axis?
