manual mode will never "exact" a point measurement. you are controlling the hit manually. hence the name "manual mode". you can get really close to exact but never will you reproduce that exact measurement as accurately as in DCC mode.
Maybe getting some training on how to use your CMM would help you understand it better?? (that's rhetorical. go and get trained man.)
