I have an old drawing with datum modifiers, can I add bonus tolerance from the datums modifiers and not check them simultaneously?

I have 2019 I know how to do it, what I want to know is do I have to do it with an old drawing before 2009?

I believe it has been a part of the standard since its inception, but most likely has been refined over the years.
