Moving to New Building

The owner forced us to prepare to move our 7.10.7SF by ourselves. We had the shipping brackets and figured it all out because we had no other choices. Fortunately, in our case we had (very) good riggers to move it. Once the CMM was installed in its new location we unpacked it and had Hexagon do a full calibration. 

I would definitely push for Hexagon do all the prep work and unpacking... But sometimes we don' have any choice, make sure you clearly and articulately explain all the risks to whoever is in charge before starting anything. 

The decision for us to move the machine has been made. I dont think that's going to change, I'm going forward as if its not. I'm in charge of the cmm's here so im going to make sure they are prepped as best as possible. I would like to use the brackets if possible since that's how the cmm showed up. I'm sure we can figure the brackets out if there aren't any instructions. I just need to do as much as I can to make sure the move goes well.

Removing the probe head and bolting the Z ram to the table will be a fun experience, hopefully you still have the case for your probe head. 
Remove your way covers (or side them out of the way) and look next to each axis for bolt holes and then play Tetris with the available brackets.
Be sure not to drop any brackets or bolts of wrenches on the exposed scales. 

It is also possible that someplace your company has saved the original installation instructions for your machine. 

You also 100% will need a calibration from a certified technician before putting that machine back to work!!! Hopefully that has already been scheduled...
