Scanning Settings - Linear Closed Scan

right off the top of my head, your cut vector is wrong.  to hold at a specific height in Z, the cut vector must be 0,0,1 as well as the 1 & D point having the same Z value

Hi Matthew, i just tried this and although the scan improved it still is having the same issue. Any other settings you can see that i could of gotten wrong at all?

change from defined to relearn, that might help

I tried that also, it still seems to be having issues, ive removed the scan and used points instead for now but i want to re-visit and re-put in the scan, as no one currently here as used scans and i myself have limited exposure from them so i want to use them more often and be able to set them up right everytime.

If using a CAD model, check that the CAD vectors are correct.

+1 on this ^^^^^^ I run into this quite often with CAD models from 2 of our customers. I've gotten into the habit of checking all surfaces that I will be scanning for flipped surface vectors  on complex models

Have you considered activating the "Fix surface vectors" checkbox found at Edit - Preferences - Import Options? This will automatically attempt to fix your CAD vectors on import. I found it a while ago and haven't had any CAD vector issues since.
