Distance dimension at an angle

Hello everyone, I have this part that I have to measure distance 97,01 between these pins that are at an angle, meaning they are not aligned with either X,Y,Z axis. How do I measure it, do I need to align it first, if so, what kind of alignments I need to do?

  • This looks like some kind of helical bowl feeder or ramp?

I would level Z and origin to the ID cylinder of the helix. Then rotate to one of the two pins/indents to find them.

Measure both pin/indents and measure a 3d distance.

--If that result isn't remotely close, the i would imply the distance to be normal to the view (looking down the cylinder axis), so measure a 2d distance perpendicular to Z.
