Distance dimension at an angle

Hello everyone, I have this part that I have to measure distance 97,01 between these pins that are at an angle, meaning they are not aligned with either X,Y,Z axis. How do I measure it, do I need to align it first, if so, what kind of alignments I need to do?

  • The best way is measure like lines and then create 2 intersections on each corner line, then a middle point between the 2 intersection points.

Then repeat for the opposite pin section.

Calculate the 2 middle points distance according to your principal view, normally Z plus , (is according to the view of the part vs the CMM)

According to my interpretation of your drawing and hollow areas of pins.

But if are solid conical pins, create cones, planes, the circle intersections between plane and cone, repeat for other side, and request the distance between 2 circles on 2D view
