GEOTOL - True Position of holes with 1 Planar Datum, reported results vary when dimensioning individually or grouped.

I have a ring shaped part with the A datum being a plane defined by the top of the ring. There's a pattern of treaded holes normal to this face, and they're tolerance call-out is .005 true position to datum A. As I understand it this is essentially a perpendicularity dimension. I measure the holes with the Adaptive Cylinder Spiral Scan technique using the thread pitch. If I try to report the results with GEOTOL and I select all the features in the group VS. one or multiple individually - I get different results. Also, the results show and X and Y component of the measurement and calculate true position with this, which doesn't make sense to me if its a perpendicularity dimension.

  • Ok, is there a way to not have it do that? Do I need to report each in GEOTOL individually? Even when I do this it reports an X,Y deviation, when in theory with only 1 defined planar datum to relate to - that makes no sense. I see nowhere on the print requiring relative dimensions of the hole pattern and I am reporting basic dimensions of the hole locations elsewhere. Would legacy dimensioning do the same?
