Is a .0014 STD DEV normal?
we are trying to measure diameters and they are reporting +.005 oversize. Could this have to do with our STD DEV being so high?

That depends on the hardware you're using - stylus, tip, length, material, module, tactile, scanner. Also, depends on if your example is in metric or inches.
Can you provide more info?
I would guess that it is metric, unless he has a 1" diameter tip.
Actually, I think that's the size of the Calibration sphere. Which made me think it would be inches. If I remember right, the calibrations results window only shows the dia of the cal sphere, and not the dia of the tip used.
nope, that SHOULD be the probe as the quad-sphere has no STD-DEV
I do see that the QUALTOOL_ID=25MM, which is equal to ~1" (0.9843)
Yeah this is in inches and you are correct, thats the size of our cal sphere
