Issues with profile

I have been having issues with checking profile on my romer INFINITE 2.0. The issues that I am having are that I am geting measurements that are out of this world. I can check profile using position measurements without issue but when I use the profile function on the same dimension the answers dont repeat. Not even close! I am somewhat of a noob to this so any input would be appriciated.
  • No CAD and nominals are correct. Do you have issues with profile on your machine? If I check a dimension using the location function it will be correct but when I use Profile it is not even close.

CODE? Without seeing NUMBERS it's very hard to tell what the issue is. Most likely, it is telling you the RIGHT number, but you aren't reading it the correct way.
  • Are you dimensioning a feature set? constructed from vector points, or a scan? what does your feature control frame on the print look like?
  • I tried to check profile with both a feature set and scan, resulting in the same off the wall numbers. It seems like a simple match calculation and I don't understand what the issue is. The job that I was working on has shipped so I cant recheck a part and show you actual numbers but if you look at the individual points you could figure it out mathematically, I can't see why PC DMIS can't run this simple function?

Unless you have deleted the program, you can STILL show us actual numbers from the last part checked.

As I said, you are probably not reading the results in the way they are being shown to you.

Example, FORM AND LOCATION of a scan shows a profile of 1.47mm. You can't figure out WHY such a high number, when you look at the individual points, you see numbers like:
    -.237, -.462, -.313, -.735, -.501, -.423, -.234, -.092, +0.088, +0.221, +0.341

Well, those number WILL give you a FORM AND LOCATION profile of 1.47mm. AND, it is correct.
  • I modified the program to use position dimensions instead of profile dimensions. I will try to creat a new program and post it so that you can see exactly what I am talking about. I was at training last week for the Romer and the instructor could not get profile to work properly either.
