I have a question. One of my customers is running PCDMIS 3.5R2 on his brown and sharpe they recently bought an older romer 3000I series that came with power inspec from a company that went under. He hates the new software and was wondering if he just installed 3.5 on the romer laptop and plugged his dongle in would it be plug and play? Or are the older versions of PCDMIS not up to par with romer technology. I personally made this work with PCDMIS 4.3 and 2009 and our INFINITE worked perfectly but being the 3.5 I told he may have issues? Any information will help thanks

This wont work right away for a couple reasons. First, the dongle for the bridge machine is coded for that interface. The second reason is that I’m pretty sure that 3.7 was the first version to be used with Romer, at least that was the version available when Hexagon bought Romer. So I doubt there is an interface that works with that version.
But all is not lost. The important bits are there and the system can work if its upgraded. Call 401.886.2911 and explain what you would like to do.
