Romer portable

I just want some honest opinions on the Romer. I’ve used a Romer in the past with the Power Inspect software (CAD based system) and I really hated the machine. It was nothing like what they said when we purchased the machine. You could take a measurement and then re-measure the same point and get a .50mm difference between the two measurements. Does anyone have the same problems, any capability studies or repeatability studies using the Romer? Has the machine improved over the years? Does it work well with the PCDMIS software?

they are better than .5mm point to point repeatability but they are still a portable arm. They have a place, just like a ruler or a cut piece of string. As long as you aren't expecting unreasonable accuracies you will love it
