I have never used or programed a romer arm. My supervisor is wanting me to write a program to check a part on our romer. We have a offline liscense for pcdmis and he is wanting me to write a program for the romer off of it and I dont know if this is going to work. Second the question I have is one of the operators told me that he has found it better to take a point in the center of a circle instead of a actual circle. I am thinking that sounds kind of fishy. I have used a faro arm in the past and always made circles by rotating the arm while in the circle. Thanks for any ideas.
You give up the ability to analyze form of the holes and the diameter is using only the edge of the hole. If its chamfered you get a false, large reading for diameter. If you only need location though its very fast and accuracy isn’t affected so much.
