Motherboard initialization failed??

We recently got another Romer arm 7535 and received PC-DMIS 2013 to run with. So far lots of issues with 2013 from what I can see, (I run 2012 on mine, still going strong.) I'm not sure if this is a software issue or an issue with the arm though. What's happening is multiple times throughout the day, and getting more frequent, the arm loses it's connection with the laptop. We are wired to the laptop mind you. It comes up with a message that says "motherboard initialization failed" and then we have to turn off and on the arm for it to reconnect. Anyone else had this issue? Should I just contact support?
  • try another usb port on the computer. connect a external usb hub to the computer and connect the Arm to the hub.
  • My company bought 2 arms, identical, and I have had the same issue with both. The local rep installed a netgear wireless USB dongle on one that eliminated the use of USB cable, and it seems to work much better than the wireless system provided with the arm, and no connection issues.
the second arm is a "loaner" to one of our suppliers, where I am currently getting them set up, and having the same issue. On the back of the laptop, there is a single USB port that has "SATA" next to it. I have been plugged into this port for 2 full days with no motherboard initialization failures. I have one more day here before travelling home, so wish me luck!
