1. When I go to dimension the distance between two features, some of the features appear red in color in the distance dialogue box. Why is this?
2. What does the error "iterate and re-pierce CAD for all features of Best Fit 3d Alignment failed during execution" mean? It happens when I am doing profile of a scanned feature.
3. What does the error "All features of Best Fit 3d Alignment skipped during execution" mean? It happens when I am doing profile of a plane.
#1: Red features have not been measured in the latest run - their values come from another part measured previously. This might also be the reason for #3.
The 3 questions are related. The profiles calculate off of the alignment, which is trying to calculate with data that is likely a mix of old and new measured data. This is what error 2 and 3 mean, and what the red from 1 is telling you.
The errors all appeared while i was programming offline, not physically measuring parts, which contradicts what you are telling me if I am interpreting your answers correctly?
No, I was going along writing my program and started dimensioning the profile of a scan and all of a sudden all my features turned red and it was giving my errors when i was trying to do the profiles of the scan.
