Hello everybody This is Sugam .I had been trained on PCDMIS 2014 from hexagon metrology india,but it was a basic training on how to measure different feature in 2D and basic PLP alignment.But I discovered so many command by myself and I started using portable CMM for trimline checking of Automotive formed sheetmetal components.But I kind of stuck with the aligning the part using different options available with PCDMIS2014,and couldn't be confident whether the alignment I have done is right. could anybody help me out giving step by step hint on measuring trimline using cad model?Which alignment (Best fit or iterative or free align) should I adopt to get accurate report? After alignment,which way to go to measure the feature,by programming and partial execution or directly find nominal from cad mode found on Probe mode toolbar?I would greatly be thankful for your.

You align the way the engineering indicates to align. We can't tell you without seeing the blueprint.
