DCC and Stable Probe - Will it work or how too.

I'm wondering if I can use stable probe, when I'm measuring a feature(vector point) I've created from cad, then execute it in DCC. My reason is to not use the remote or be at least not so dependant of it. I'm running PCDMS 2015.1** with a Leica AT401 tracker. Sorry if its a re-post, I just can't find anything on it anywhere.

  • Yes stable probing works great in DCC mode. I normally use the "quick start" window when constructing a program because if the "probe comp is on" it lets me predetermine the vector of the feature I'm measuring. So I can create my "plane" with 4 points and predefine the direction as "away", and then use stable probing to take the measurements. Once I run the program from the beginning I use stable probing to take the hits, then the feature automatically ends itself. This way you don't have to keep running back and forth to the computer to hit the "continue button" on the program. Plus in DCC you can insert "tracker commands" for when you want the stable probing to turn on/off.
