Dia and Spherical features are .005-.006 0versize

We have Romer Inf. and It consistently measures .005-.006 oversize on all ID's. The only thing have changed is that we updated the Service Pack. I have tried 2 different modules with 4mm and 3mm Probe. Same result. I have calibrated with a single point option using the Cone on the bar that is provided. We dont have the Ref. Sphere for it, only that Long Stick.

When I calibrate the probe I typically get STD .04-.06mm

Since I cant figure out how to manipulate the Cone size on the Bar, is there a way to comp. the Probe Dia? I have tried to change the size of the probe inside the pc-dmis in the probe Utility, and it keeps going back to its original dia.

  • Ok i will try using the cmm ref. Sphere. How many hits do i need to do?

So if i calib. Using the cone i cannot measure the diam accurately?

calibrate against the sphere. when asked, yes, you want to calibrate against nominal.

winRDS will prompt you to insert the 15mm probe. do so and take 9 hits over 3 levels on the sphere.

then insert the probe you wish you calibrate.

take 9 hits in the same pattern with the buttons facing left.

9 more with buttons facing right

9 more with buttons facing away from you

9 more with buttons facing towards you. 36 total. Max error should be less than 0.15\
