Error in GD&T? SOLVED: (update) It's two separate requirements, need separate dimensions.

I tried to create the FCF shown on the print using the Xactmeasure true position, but I had a error message pop up. So I'm just looking for someone to confirm that the print has Bad GDnT.

  • ah, you are correct, sir. My eyes saw what they wanted to see.

is right. two completely separate FCFs and they need to be dimensioned as such. NOT together.
  • Ummm, yeah. That is a multiple single segment. Not a composite. The "primary must be repeated" rule does not apply.

Ah, I missed that. They are indeed separate requirements. Time to change the thread title again!

Alignment Datum Reference Frame does not work!

I believe that the GD&T is good.
I would say that the software is the problem.

So, this has always been a big misunderstanding due to poor use of language on Wilcox's part.
Yes, the dropdown choice clearly says "Current Alignment"... but that's not what it means.
The drop-down choice SHOULD read, "Use axis directions of Current Alignment for results, but note that these results are computed according to an alignment built inside the Xactmeasure dimension to the datum scheme chosen and definitely NOT computed to the real current alignment."
