I just learned that our engineering team is having issues overlaying a scan to their CAD in Solid Works. Has anyone seen this before? The scan was exported as a MESH in a STL file. This has been the only way to export data and allow it to be opened in any other program. Regular point clouds will not open for us. I do npt know if it something on my end or if it is out of my control.
Hi
Gsus#1 The Mesh is exported in the units in which it was created. You can also select alignment when exporting. If there is a scaling issue it would be helpful to check the import settings of your application.
Did you know, you can import a CAD model into PC-DMIS and align the Mesh to it? Then you can create a Mesh Colormap to do the comparison.
