RDS-Software - How to calibrate 45° probe with a sphere - Shaft touches the sphere

Hi,

sorry for the maybe easy question. I am a beginner.

At the RDS-Software:

I don't know how to calibrate my 45° probe at our RomerArm 7525 with the sphere. I can not measure the nine points in the RDS-Software, because I touch the sphere with the shaft of the probe.
If I manage it in one orientation of the probe head, it crashes in the other one of the three. I attached a photo.

I always thouth the arm should be directly over the sphere. How should I do it? I searched the forum and the manual but can solve my problem.

Any ideas or suggestions?

best regards

Thorsten

  • Hi Thorsten,

The trick is not to follow the graphics in RDS by heart.
In RDS they give you the ''best case scenario'' for the calibration, but that doesn't mean you have to make sure all the areas go in green.
So, whenever you get to a position where it's hitting with the shaft, just tilt the probe slightly until it makes contact just with the ruby tip.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Best regards.
