Hey fellas, been getting very comfortable with my 8725 and AS1 but I'm struggling a little to create good meshes. What's the secret? I've tried all 3 standard filters. Still objects don't seem to resemble my part. Wayyy to many triangles. Does PCDMIS even have the ability to reverse engineer objects? Mine don't look near as fluid and smooth as the videos I watch with polyworks or other softwares. Any advice?
DeDe430 have you had any portable training? Extracting features is pretty straightforward with auto features. I can also elaborate, for the ones who achieve those "member statuses" you speak of earn them one post at a time....
DMIS_guy You would need to contact your local Hexagon representative for ReCreate pricing information.
vpt.se The training is embedded within the software (the help) and there is also a forum. From what I've seen it's pretty good and mainly takes the form of instructional videos. The only problem I had was, being a metrologist rather than a CAD guy, some of the terminology was confusing (they use the terms workplane and datum to describe what we would call an alignment for example). Also, the approach to doing certain things was alien to me - again, because I am coming at things from a PC-DMIS measurement/ CMM perspective and I'm not so familiar with CAD systems.
Thanks
neil.challinor - I know about the videos (which are good), would really like it to have a walkthrough with a point cloud -> mesh -> model (kinda like the Hexagon block). Will for sure check the help files out, I know the nordic branch are looking to offer ReCreate classes.
