Primary Datum Plane

I am writing a program for a huge part, the primary datum for most of the feature control frames is B. So I am trying to use the primary datum plane function to level to. The plane is constructed out of 4 circles, when make the plane my theoretical has a positive vector for K but my actual has it as a negative?? I am trying to create a main alignment to dimension the part with and it is jacking it up. Can anyone let me know what I am doing wrong??

  • I'd recommend posting the code for the features that you use to build PLN_B, otherwise it is very difficult to guess at what is causing the flipped vector.
  • What is datum B shown as on the print? The constructed Primary Datum Plane is supposed to take a series of points (auto-vector points, auto-surface points or measured points) or another previously measured plane/planes as the input. It then takes the hits from those input features and re-calculates a new plane from them, based on the type of fit you have selected. Trying to use circles as the inputs is what is causing your problem because that is not how the primary datum plane was designed to be used.
