Leica has had one very close to that for quite some time.  Did Hex buy Leica?

Is it too much to ask for some egghead to stand there and show its operation while talking about how good it is and what it can do? 
Maybe an actual workflow? Something besides its pretty and has dancing lasers would really help! 

Hexagon have owned Leica (at least the metrology side of Leica) for a very long time  - 15 years+

I bet it costs a fortune, just based upon how it looks, and the accessories needed to use it

We have a Leica tracker, no laser upgrade for it. (to be fair they did have a laser for the OLD Leica tracker....it was bad i guess) 
And even now the Leica with an AS1 is still a single line laser which while fine, truly hampers the speed at which you can measure.

Also yes, they have been with Leica for a while. Dono if they actually absorbed them? 

Also to be quite fair.... The Hyperscan looks a lot like a Metrascan and a Metrascan looks a lot like a different product... And two of the other newer hexagon products released after Creaform products and are basically identical... Tiz the business world we live in!

and line of site will only allow a very, VERY small portion of that rail car to be scanned.  I mean, why such a shallow angle for the tracker and so close to the object to scan?  Sure, they 'had' to do it to get it in the picture, but still, image doing leap frog alignments with ONLY the laser.... on such a flat object....

These are the kinds of things the money counters can't (won't) understand when they jump on the bandwagon and say:

That's the secret (of the metrascan which I saw a demo for once) you just scan until you run outta reach, then kick the tripod across the floor (literally) to the next zone and keep scanning. No re-alignment needed, seamless scanning over very large volumes!!! 

To be fair to Hexagon though... the Metrascan uses small target stickers to maintain accuracy over long distances and Hexagon said no targets are needed, maybe theirs doesn't do the same thing?
