romer infinite tricks

I am working with the Romer Infinite 6 axis portable cmm arm with PC-DIMIS 4.2 I was wondering if anybody knows how to change the buttons functionality? I would like them to delete the last point when I am checking in point only mode.
Also I have been looking into a heads up display so I don`t have to keep turning around to see the probe readout window. Like have it displayed on a palm pilot or something.

2 things that i have learned recently that made my job a little easier.

1. pull points. When you take you hit hold the trigger in and back it off in the direction you want you vector to be then wait for the audible sound and release the trigger.

2. open probe readout. Right click then hit set-up. Turn on -> display distance to closest CAD. Then you don't have to take the point to see what you T value is going to be. That only works if you are checking to the cad

  • We have made a swivel base so that you can see the laptop from any place on the table. This is very helpful when you are using a scanner. Also to backup a point you just press and hold the except button and it will back up. I have added a photo of the bracket we made. We used a base from one of our old Faro arms. I hope this helps! FINALLY! Someone found a good use for a Faro!

Actually, get yourself a nice LCD monitor. They make these NICE swivel/swing bracket things for them. I have one (for my LCD monitor) and it's base is bolted to the desk. The spring-counter-balances allow for movement up/down, left/right, in/out, all around. I have about 24" of movement in ANY direction and the monitor I have came with software that will automatically rotate the display if you rotate the monitor, which this will also let you do. Very handy! I went and made a second base that I can bolt to the CMM table in ANY of the tie-downs and place the monitor ANYWHERE on the table that I want and again, full 24" movement in any direction.
