New to visio, Calibration of camera??????

Hello.
I'm new to this forum and to the software too.
I would like to ask if someone knowes how to calibrate camera and illumination. Do I need something for calibration?
When I try to calibrate camera do I need a Hexagon block???
What is a Hexagon block?
We have a Tesa visio 300 machine and PC DMIS 4.2 and 4.3, but the probe is calibrated only in 4.3. When I work in 4.2 I don't have the calibration.
Is calibration procedure similar to one in other software? Until now I was using McCosmos. Are this softwares similar?
Help please!
Thank for your answers.

  • I would contact whoever you bought that system from because you can calibrate the camera to the probe if you have that option but you should have some type of glass scale or glass magnification scale that lets you calibrate the optics and the zoom. As far as the illumination i would not think that it needs calibrated that is really just for you to be able to see the part which the lighting would change from part to part. I could be wrong on the lighting but to me that just does not make sense to calibrate that. I would look really hard though to find the scale for the magnification.
