Someone messed up my Program

I wrote a pretty long program. It worked many times. I was gone and one of the other inspectors tried to run it. He did not uncheck and check the program. He said it ran on the screen but the CMM did not move. So when I tried to run it I notices all the hit values changed. Instead of the 4 hits for a circle it sais 111. I tried to edit the hit value but it asked me a question. Either way I answered it, my other features got wiped out. Please help I don't want to rewrite this program.

Thanks!!

  • I did not back it up...I will start though!! Is there any other way to save it??

I don't think so. You hosed yourself by not having a backup. I have a folder on the company server that I keep backups of all programs on. I run from the local file only, never from the server.

Back in 1986 when I took my first computer class it seemed the instructor must have said "Save! Save early! Save Often! Save back-ups! Save! Save! Save!" at least 30 times per class.

The good news is that it only takes a few cases like the one you have now for this to become SOP, at least for most. . . Neutral face
