PC-DMIS Vision at IMTS

Hexagon Metrology unveiled two new developments at IMTS yesterday.

1) CMM-V - A video probe for use on a CMM. This video probe, with two ring LED illumination built in, adds a new dimension to your CMM. It will allow measurement of previously unsupported features (too small, surface too soft), and, being compatible with tool changers, allows part programs to be written containing both touch probe and video probe features.

2) OGP Retrofits. The current version of the QVI/OGP controller is now supported for PC-DMIS retrofitting, including Touch Probe machines. Support for the previous generation controller was launch at Westec earlier in the year.

IMTS is running for the next two weeks if you wish to come along and take a look.

  • It's currently compatible with B&S controllers running LEITZ firmware, and a "multi-wired" CMM. If your CMM can already handle a Metris of Perceptron laser probe, then you'll be all set. I'm not sure the pricing is finalized, but I'd be very surprised if the quoted $30K didn't also include the portlock option. Best get in touch with your local sales centre.
